In this class, you’ll not only learn the basics of linocut printing step by step, you’ll also head home with a goodie bag packed with everything you need to keep creating: carving tool, lino blocks, brayer, baren, ink, paper & more.
You’ll learn how to create black and white lino prints by carving your chosen image or design and printing onto paper. It will be a relaxed introduction to lino printing, moving thoughtfully through each step with an emphasis on enjoying the process of creating a piece of art.
This workshop is Halloween-themed so we encourage you to bring an image relating to Halloween that you would like to transform into an lino print.

What You’ll Learn:
-**Creating your own Designs**: You’ll learn each step involved in creating your own lino prints.
-**Exploring Creativity**: We’ll print on white paper to begin before playing with a variety of paper textures, colours and materials.
Lino printing engages the whole body from the mind generating ideas to the hands carving the block and rolling out the ink. The resulting pieces are bold and evocative even when technically ‘imperfect’ making it a rewarding process.
Lisa has practiced lino printing for many years in a variety of spaces and will highlight key materials so you can continue using this skill whatever your own workspace might look like.
